4.  Changes to the ‘Can Add’ object permission

  • ‘The Can Add’ and ‘Can Edit’ object permissions used to have a common behaviour, where a user who had ‘Can Add’ permission to an object, was also able to edit the information within the respective object, regardless of ‘Can Edit’ permission being assigned to him/her.

  • To further improve the security of the system, this behaviour was changed, so that ‘Can Add’ and ‘Can Edit’ object permissions would now function independently.

  • When ‘Can Add’ object permission is assigned to you, you will now be able to add new records to the respective object. However, you will not be able to edit the information which already exists in the object, unless you have ‘Can Edit’ object permission or any super role permission (IPM Administrator, Project Manager etc).

Note: Aforementioned change will not have any impact on the existing permission set up of your organization as ‘Can Edit’ object permission will be auto-ticked for all the project positions which currently have the ‘Can Add’ object permission.
