This quarter we've got exciting enhancements to improve your user experience within the system, which will be available in your Test environment on 20 January 2024 and will be available in your Live environment on 10 February 2024.

4. Security Enhancements

This enhancement introduces a completely revamped and modernised user interface design for quick access through the navigation panel and page header in Camms.Strategy. The design aligns with the overarching Camms theme, consistent across all Camms Products, ensuring a cohesive experience within the Camms.Product suite. As we progress in developing this next-generation platform, this redesign lays the foundation for additional improvements in our upcoming releases.

Page Header

The page header section has been simplified, reducing the space occupied by the Camms.Strategy logo and giving more prominence to your organisation's title or logo.

What has Changed?

Changed the Camms product logo, shortening it to give more prominence to your organisation's name/logo. Eliminated the Home icon; now, the homepage can be accessed by clicking on the product logo. Moved the Name and Designation text to a dedicated panel accessible by clicking on your profile image. Enhanced the profile menu with a clearer white background and icons.

Quick Access Navigation Panel

The Quick Access left-hand navigation panel has a revamped appearance, featuring completely new icons that make it easier to distinguish various areas and features at a glance.

What has Changed?

• Change in navigation icons, designed to provide more clarity on its function and making them more distinct from each other, making it easier to identify the different areas/features in the product.
• Background colour of left-hand navigation panel.
• Directly access a specific feature/area in the product through a new panel (replacing the menu that appeared previously).

The new quick update will be exclusively extended to Camms.Strategy, ensuring a seamless and consistent user experience across the entire Camms.Product suite. Users will have the privilege of effortlessly accessing and updating all their responsibilities across products through the quick update, regardless of which Camms Product they are using.

What has Changed?

• Displays all responsibilities of the logged-in user across the Camms.Product suite.
• Features a dedicated widget for each responsibility type, complete with an icon to enhance clarity.
• The shape of the widget has been changed to a rectangle, providing more space for content.
• If there are no responsibilities assigned from a specific responsibility type to the logged-in user, the respective widget will not be displayed.
• The number displayed represents the total items the logged-in user is responsible for in each responsibility type. If details are filtered, the number will represent the filtered items. If there are no results based on the filter criteria, the widget count will display the value of 0.

This enhancement will automatically extend parent action dates to align with the task dates when tasks are linked to a project. 

How does it Work? 

• When projects are linked to the tasks of an action, and the task dates inherit a date range that extends beyond the action dates, the action dates will be automatically extended to align with the task dates.
• An information icon will appear next to the action dates in Details, Progress and Task tabs within Actions to indicate that they have been extended to align with the task dates.

At Camms, we are committed to enhancing the security of our application. After thorough assessment, we have identified an opportunity to improve authentication token security. This involves the introduction of one-time tokens, these unique tokens are designed to provide an additional layer of protection against potential unauthorised access and with reduced expiration periods of those tokens, serving as mandatory security enhancement.

These measures represent a crucial and effective security enhancement, demonstrating our dedication to proactive security measures.

Benefits of secure tokens:

• Security: By encapsulating user identity and permissions, secure tokens reduce the need to transmit sensitive data with each request, minimising the risk of interception and unauthorised access.
• Statelessness: Secure tokens enable stateless authentication, meaning the server doesn't need to keep a record of tokens. This simplifies the architecture and scalability of applications.
• Flexibility: JSON Web Tokens (JWTs) are widely supported and can be used in a variety of applications, from web to mobile and even IoT devices.
